Welcome to Banff and guided fly fishing, spin fish and ice fishing adventures with Hawgwild Fly Fishing Guides owner Big Jim Dykstra. I got my start in 1995 guiding with the the old man of the river himself famed fly fishing guide Jeff Perodeau. Now that Jeffy's gone they are calling me the old man and not sure I like that as I still have some kick left.

Guided walk and wade trips with Hawgwild are client friendly and include Simms waders, G. Loomis fly and spin rods, all the flies and lures, transportation from Banff and lunch too. Access is good and wading nice on a firm freestone bottom. I guide all the trips so no mystery guides here. If anything I am known in these parts as a fun and entertaining guide that loves going fishing. There are half and full day options with flexible start times to suit your holiday plans.
